V for Violet – alibb’s colour crazy challenge

The thumbnail image that you see  is as close as I can get to choose a violet coloured flower in our garden.  Violet is a beautiful colour and any garden having flowers with this colour does attract visitors. Google insists on calling it a periwinkle.  It is neither periwinkel, blue trumpet nor a morning glory.  It is something else.  But what is it?

I also think a dark blue sometimes is confused for violet  The best therefore is to look at the rainbow that boasts of a violet colour – VIBGYOR  where V stands for Violet.

We have yet another flower that we call lady’s slipper which looks violet.  I searched the Net to get its right name but could not succeed.

Hopefully this flower does look violet – satisfying alibb’s alphabet crazy challenge.
