Trimming the tree

When I first saw a tree being trimmed, I was surprised because I thought trees should be left to grow until it reaches its maximum. But logic says that the tree has the capacity to grow more than the allocated space it has. That means not all trees can be left to grow without limits.

For trees that are planted in a limited space, trimming is the name of the game. It is usually the so called topwork where the top of the tree is trimmed to limit the height. About the width, the trimming can also be done by the sides. For those who do not know how to trim, it is best to hire someone who knows the job so that the tree will be not damaged. Trimming is just limiting the growth but the tree will still be in its natural state and a fruit tree will continue to be fruiting.
