Travel and Vacation: Try a Proper ‘Swedish Sauna’ Climate-Change Friendly

Yeah, what is Swedish sauna?  Google defines it interestingly. In Sweden, the sauna is a heated room or building where you relax and sweat to gain health benefits. Saunas are in abundance all over Sweden where they are commonly known as ‘bastu‘.

Swedish saunas are generally heated by burning coals and firewood. Neighboring country, Finland is a really nice, cold tourist spot to visit private saunas. As a result of modern changes and improvements in industry, the sauna evolved to use an iron wood-stove, or kiuas, Finnish name.

Of course, a wood stove would have a chimney. Holy smokes!  I prefer heating my house burning coal and the power of red gum firewood. It’s healthier, porous, and natural heating to get cozy and warmth in an enclosed environment.

What’s a Swedish sauna, anyway? Can we have such a privilege in our own home and county?  Anytime? Of course. Why? Because Saunas ease up tensed muscles, relieve aching muscles and arthritic joints.

In the high coal heat  in a sauna, something natural simultaneously happens. The immune system in the body releases endorphins. Our friendly life-saving natural neurochemicals in the brain that produce analgesic properties. No drugs, no fuss or no side-effects!

Body temperature rises from the heat of the coal-heated sauna. This causes blood vessels to dilate, therefore, blood circulation normalizes. That is why we can enjoy a proper Swedish sauna, — young and old.

The young Swedish climate change activist should have a lot of these proper rests and relaxation—of course, safely alone– after her long trip from around the world scaring fellow young teens out of their wits into believing that the world is gonna end in 11 years (last year, it was 12). And get a real Swedish sauna for her endorphins to be happy, beautiful and free.

On our retirement, my hubby and I,  will try this one Swedish sauna out , in the U.S.A. !

  • Smoke Sauna. A traditional Finnish smoke sauna (savusauna) made out of logs. Is this climate-change friendly?

    • Yes
    • No
    • Woodfire is naturally healthier

  1. @DocAndersen “”you do know friends of science is considered to be a low reliable source right?””

Country Mama: They have a voice. And must be allowed same opportunity to be heard and engage in public debate and discussion. Not debunked.

Btw, the first link on “Burning Questions”” is a “”NASA recent satellite observations of earth.” Is NASA also a LOW and UNreliable source of evidence, too?

Thanks for your rhetorical question. I know you’re not expecting an answer.

  2. I love saunas. I always try them when I can. And I am sure Greta Thunberg relaxes in a Swedish sauna after having travelled the world. The problem of this girl is that she has missed plenty of school this year, so she will have to study harder to pass the examinations in June

  3. I will address every paragraph from your comment. Thanks for your patience.

1.) Of course Paris ‘ACCORD’ means ‘be of one’, ‘be in uniform with’, ‘binding agreement’ etc…

2.) 99% doesn’t mean that they are correct and are evidence–based group-think in ACCORD. These, are the group-think debunkers debunking the 1% non-conformists challenging the mainstream 99% And billions of $$ are put in to this 99% group every year.
Here’s the 1% Position Statement. Which, I am glad to share with the public for OPEN debate and giving scientific merits to where it is due.

3, 4, 5.) About the high temperatures, “Burning Questions”: “NASA’s recent satellite observations of earth. Human-made carbon dioxide emissions are only 5% of 0.039% of the atmosphere.”

  4. Saunas aren’t my thing, but I do enjoy the benefits of water vapour on the respiratory track, especially when I am sick. I don’t really have the knowledge to comment on climate change, however, air pollution is a big concern for me.

    • @DocAndersen So, The UN of 4 years collaborating with Paris Accord and climate change activists all agree with AOC, CC resources business industries that the world is gonna end in 11. Looks like a lot of 93 trillion dollars has been put in to these cc resources and they should get their money back before the 11 years are up. Hmmm.

    • Hahaha! It fits the title. Swedish… Travel Climate-change. Coal…emissions… 😀

So, the most traveled Swedish girl in the world–demanding people how to live their lives— can also enjoy the privilege of some form of relaxation and proper health— Swedish sauna , in Sweden.

      • you do understand that other than the US, the Paris Accord represents every nation in the world right?

we are talking thousands of scientists. Who the vast majority (more than 99%) have been saying Climate Change is going to destroy the planet.

The ocean is at its highest temperature, average, in recorded history.
The last two years have been the hottest ever recorded (average global temperature) for a year.

The Antarctic project – which cores 10,000 to 100,000 years of ICE in Anarticia has found no temperatures that ever rose this fast.

The facts in this situation and I will happily provide you with 100s of reputable links that talk about this problem, are that Climate Change is going to impact us.
