When there is an occasion in the rural towns, expect to see the small flags that they hand on the streets. We call that “Banderitas” which is the Spanish word for small banner. When some men would start putting up those small banners, residents become excited for the festivities that will surely be graced by celebrities. It is in our culture to have popular figures during town festivities.
