Love ItLove It

To Whom it May Concern

Hey,

We have a problem and it needs to be solved quickly. If it is not there will be more sad and angry people. It would appear to me that people are simply gone. I believe there is a reason for that. I believe it comes down to simple communication. Many have jumped ship and are on another site. I doubt that it is a better site, but I am told by some that when they ask a question, they receive a response. That seems to be the main reason people are heading that way. Without traffic this site doesn’t exist. So I am here to share my honest concerns and see if we are all part of the problem or if we can be part of the solution that brings great content and money “here”.

When the new badges appeared, they simply were there with no explanation except they are locked. So that left each of us to reach our own conclusions. Mine might be different than yours. Let’s talk about the badge they called

Community Moderator

Locked

Helps ensure that all content and communications in the community are appropriate.

This was a clue to me that maybe they needed the community of writers to be more involved.  Maybe they needed more people to know the word count and approve posts so they didn’t have to wait. Maybe they needed some people to offer editing help. Perhaps they wanted more people to hit the report button.  We don’t know what it means, because they have not taken the time to tell us what it is and how we can help. Maybe someone just thought more badges would be fun, we don’t know.

That is just one simple example.

Since I am not a verified writer (is the right term?) someone has to look at this and approve it. In theory they might even read it. The hope is that one of the three people who seem to run the site want to make money and wants it to be successful so after they approve the post they leave us a comment and commit to making it work with our help. Leaving us in the dark is not working.

It is also my hope that people answer the questions honestly and we make some great decisions together.

  1. If this site does fail, I am a member of a discussion group called MyLot.com that is a social medis site that pays $5.00 on a Pay Pal account for getting your work to be liked by the readers of that site.

  2. I have in the past been a member of sites that have gone “belly up”, and I therefore have to assume that this one could do so too. We could find that one day the site has simply disappeared – or the managers decide on a “payment holiday” whereby the site remains live but nobody gets paid. I have come across both scenarios in the past.

I have to say that the signs are not promising. What would help would be a statement from the managers that all is well, and maybe giving an idea of their future plans. Reassurance would be welcome, otherwise more people will leave.

My own insurance policy is a “Blogger” site where I am in complete control of what I publish and where I get the full (ish) benefit of any advert clicks. It’s a “get rich slow” policy – a lot of effort for minimal reward – but that is no different from any Virily-type site of which I have been a member in the past.

  3. I have a lot of unanswered questions as well. I have sent many emails to support without any response. This is odd as they have always been prompt to answer and help. Not sure what is going on.

  4. One thing is very strange. After several posts about problems on Virily, nobody hasn’t explained anything yet. I can’t understand all this silence from people who may be concerned, or entitled to solve the problem.

    • Nor can I. My frustration is that I feel like I am trying to offer help and encouragement. I am being totally ignored. Since I have never been paid by this site my concerns are very real and I tried to address them privately and got no response. So I am trying publicly. I feel like the answer right now is “We don’t give a #$#WWER#%^^ about the people who write here.
