with curtains
completing a room
lights flourishing.
Sheer
as if
cut with a knife
or
exploding
from the ground
the end of
what was
the beginning
of new.
Millions of years
exposed
to reveal
treasures and
sharing those
with pockets
running towards the sheer wall.

I have not gone on fossil hunting yet. The wall looks fantastic.
When I was little my dad and I used to go all the time.
Your pictures and questions remind me of my younger brother who is a collector of fossil stones.
I used to love collecting fossils. Now, I mostly display them.
I myself prefer to collect suiseki. in the case of my brother, he thought it would become his business later after retiring as a bank executive in a few years.
I have many stones my father collected with various carvings, and unique colors and striations.
I guess I do both.

It showed me how different my dad’s tastes were then well what I thought they were most of the time.
“The end of what was the beginning of new.” For some reason, the image that flashed in my mind is that of rebirth and not of a fossil. Maybe the soul is the intangible kind of fossil ?
Ah but once the fossil was embedded in the sheer wall, a part of the wall, Now it is in my hand separate 🙂
