What does the cup of ocean hold?
The gleam of gold or purple tint;
Heavenly blue, tenderest green
Shot through and through with sunlight;
Idly roaming wayward ripples.
Gallant plumes of foam from tumbling breakers;
Sands and pebbles that slide and chase;
Softly gliding, mystic currents;
The ages-old, mighty spell
This cup of the ocean holds.
