When I come up with more lemons than sweetness I look for ways to turn things around. One of my favorite ways to use lemons is to squeeze them and use the juice in recipes and drink lemon water. Lemon juice can replace salt which we should cut back on. I love to sauté chicken and then squeeze on a liberal drop of lemon juice and for just a bit of some saltiness a splash of soy sauce. There is nothing like it in taste. Some fried potatoes or non-greasy French fries also greatly benefit from a squeeze of lemon.
Of course, if you like you can add a pinch of sugar and a teaspoon of grated lemon rind to a bottle of vodka. Shake it well and place it in the freezer. Once it is nice and icy you can drink it straight or add it to your favorite cocktail. It gives it a really nice kind of flavor.
It is great when making a salad. Use lemon juice, a bit of soy sauce, add a bit of olive oil or sunflower seed oil and toss through any kind of salad it is just great in flavor. Saves you lots of calories which salad dressings provide. Use it for seafood and fish and lots of different vegetables such as broccoli.

I use lemons a lot. I prefer lemonade.
I drink a lot of lemon juice and a little sugar …. it’s a cool refreshing drink, dear Sandra
I am very much into lemon desserts lately.
So many foods are enhanced with a squeeze or two of lemon. And what would a gin and tonic be like without ice and lemon?
There are some food , which is incomplete with lemon taste
I use a lot of lemon in my kitchen.
I also toss in some limes now and then.
I use lemons daily, I love its taste. I will try your recipe with vodka, it should be great for cocktails.
That recipe comes from my dad. I lost him when I was only 10 so of course, I knew nothing about this way to get that lemon taste in vodka until I grew up and my mom told me about it
we use lemons in a number of things. My fav is lemons, asparagus and chicken put into bags, sealed and them cooked in the Suvee.
delightful!!!
that sounds delicious, Doc I will have to try it without the bags just the ingredients in my slow cooker. I love all three.
you can make your own suvee very cheaply, just a pan of water boiling on the stove and a sealed plastic bag.
I like it on fish. If you go to restaurants and order fish you will always get a slice of lemon with it.
When I make lemonade in the summer I use water and sugar to make up for what lemons do not come out much in the making. I have used lemon juice when I have hot water and honey but do not use it for other things I eat. Very interesting idea you have.
For a bad cough or bronchitis, a steaming mug of tea, lemon, and honey does wonders and if you like you can add a splash of brandy.
Lemon is also very healthy. It acts to flush out toxins from the body. Warm lemon water is good for digestion too. Adds taste to many recipes.
I use lemon a lot in my cooking.
My recipes do not involve lemons and lemon juice does not agree with me.
Yes, I love using lemons in cooking or even lemon drink…
