Themes of the Month ~ Remembering the "true" winter

Yes, it is such a winter in my memory. In winter, days are shorter, nights are longer. It’s very cold outside. It is often snow that whitens the landscape. Rivers and lakes are freezing, ice candles hang from the roofs of houses and trees. The children are very happy with the snow because they can ski, sled or work with a snowman in a snowy landscape. Snow and ice can also cause problems for people, which often happens in traffic. But this is a true winter idyll. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen such winter idylls for a long time. I found this picture in the archive. Good thing we have pictures.

  1. What a gorgeous picture. Our winter this year is the pits. Actually we had a green Christmas which is extremely rare in my Canadian region. Last year was a long and cold and snowy winter which I was absolutely enthralled with. I guess global warming is creating cycles till there is almost no winter days… Yes I remember vividly the good old winters we used to have and your picture is just right to represent what they used to be…
