This is a photo of one of the many neon signs on display at the Museum of Vancouver. The exhibit was called Neon Vancouver, Ugly Vancouver. Even though an over abundance of neon signs are part of the history of this city, it is felt by some that too many neon signs makes for an ugly city. The city also has an outdoor Neon sign museum along one city block.
I have always found neon signs to be nostalgic and exciting and a colorful look back at the history and culture of a city. I am happy that many cities are preserving their neon signs whether they are ugly or not.

In principle, neon signs don’t bother me if there really aren’t too many … they invigorate the nightlife of the city
I agree, they can add to the nightlife of a city
It is much more lively and possibly more secure
I like neon signs, but we don’t have many in our country.
We don’t have a lot in any one area, they are more scattered around the city.
Neon is absolutely brilliant in my opinion.
Neons do give out a happy vibe.
Too much is clutter, a few is fine.
I agree too many of them can look messy
According to me neon signs kind of bring life to a city,.
So true and they are nice to look at.
