The sad plight of formal occasions

The last formal occasion we had attended was a wedding renewal last January. It was a happy event that the couple had truly enjoyed amid the big budget that they spent. No one knew that it would be the last because when the virus came to fore, any kind of gathering has been banned.

So what do we have now instead? Some people are turning to the internet. They have the remote wedding with the remote guests. That is fine for them but not for me. I want the real wedding ceremonies and also the real reception with good food.
