The Ripple Effect

When the waters are calm and nothing happens and what seems like serenity is just stagnation there is no point in throwing stones to create some action. However if you could clean the algae  and allow the pond to breathe a bit , it may be worth the try.

Doing good deeds may not always cause the ripple effect, but sometimes it does catch the attention of a few who may be inspired to do their bit. Sitting still and whining doesn’t do anyone any good. We need to do our bit where it is needed.

Our neighborhood was bereft of trees , there were no birds, no flowers or greenery just dirty roads. We (a few friends and I) planted trees all around. The powers that be uprooted some on one pretext or the other, we did not stop we planted more trees and they have all grown big enough for birds to come looking for a perch. I just saw the Metallic green sun bird on a tree. Though I couldn’t take a picture with my phone camera, it filled my heart with so much joy.

I called my friends to tell them about what I saw and my friend told me that more people have started planting trees where we live. We may not be able to do much but we can still do what is possible. I am so happy that our birds and coming back and our trees are growing strong.
