The proposal to make a married man a ‘priest’

Bishops belonging to the Catholic Christian denomination of several South American countries have suggested to the Vatican that legal permission be granted to ‘married’ men to become ‘priests’.

No married or sexually active man is allowed to become a ‘priest’ in the Catholic Christian community, nor are women of certain religious positions allowed to be married and sexually active.

In Christianity at least a thousand years ago, it was mandatory for people of other religious positions, including ‘clergy’ and ‘nuns,’ to be unmarried and to be sexually non motivated.

Although Christianity is not against marriage and sexuality, However, such relation are forbidden for religious position holder.

Due to the appointment of non-married people as ‘pastors’, there has been a shortage of pastoral religious leaders in thousands of remote areas of at least 9 South American countries in the Amazon region.

The special assembly of the Vatican City is believed to give a historic decision and approved the termination of a ‘unmarried condition ‘ for a ‘priest’.
