The picus tree called Balete

The Balete tree has small fruits like a berry that is loved by birds when they are red which means it is ripe. Usually the Balete is majestic in size with the hanging roots. The scary appearance of the roots give the tree an enchanted look that many folk tales were created for that effect.

In our home, we also have a small Balete tree that we trim regularly so it will not grow. But since it is small so it has no fruits to attract the birds. Anyway, there are Balete trees in our community so I think those trees are the main reason why there are so many kinds of birds that I see in our village.
