gray against a black background
a single pearl
free from the clam
the inner working
the growth
the time
over. The clam
on the ground below
the proud
mother
of the
pearl
nestled in the clouds.
As if the end
result of a failed
track
and field
shotput
off course
not out but up.
Nestled int he gray clouds
A circle
within a circle
as if there
but not there at all.
The clouds
a gentle blanked
but one that keeps no one warm.
All while the clam is hopping
the proud mother
of the pearl
in the blanket of clouds.

When I have the chance I get a good look at the evening sky and it is priceless to see the stars and the moon above.
I agree I love looking at the night sky!
In my case it is usually to see if any airplanes are flying overhead as well.
We do not often get airplanes in our area overhead. We are a little far from Dulles (IAD) or Baltimore (BWI)
Since the Lake Charles Regional Airport is southeast of my neighborhood, seeing an airplane fly by is rare.
Dulles is well south of us and BWI (Baltimore) is well east of us. The regional airport (Annapolis) is also East.
We do get the stack from Dulles from time to time.
I often sit in the evening on the terrace and watch the sky, the stars, the moon, and the dance of clouds. Night views can also be wonderful.
I have watched the night sky since I was little. I agree!!!
Seeing the night sky is one item we can agree upon.
