The fruit of the cacao tree is the bearer of chocolate beans. Just like coffee, the cacao beans are processed to achieve the desired bitter taste. When mixed with milk and sugar, the ground cacao beans provide a strong chocolate drink that we call “Baterol” which means it is battered before drinking so it will be frothy. There are many cacao plantations in our country but we have no chocolate factory of our own.

It’s good to have this tree around. I love the taste of chocolate drink with coconut. I already miss the taste as it’s been a long time since I had a drink. Nice photo.

There was a time when the government encouraged cocoa plantations but now they seem to want people to go slow on it.
