Clinching tight
fingers wrapped
right in a fist
each knuckle white
holding on tight
to the
light
that escapes around the edges
of the fingers
to launch
into the air
revealing dust
and
bouncing off walls
to seek egress
we
still clench
our fingers tight
hoping it is not to late
hoping to
hold on to the light…

I know I should not but I have ended up doing this. Holding onto something when I should not have.
It can be painful to do so, but at least you recognize that it happens sometimes!
Every single today, but tomorrow all of that changes.
