I wonder if Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family might have had some run-ins with vampires because supposedly she has banned garlic from the palace. However, that has done nothing to keep the ghosts away.
As most of you know Buckingham Palace is a huge place. It was built on land where once a monastery stood. The ghost of a monk, who died in his cell appears to haunt the rear palace terrace at night. He’s seen wearing a brown cowl. Usually, this monk appears on Christmas Day moaning and rattling his chain.
A first-floor office is haunted by Major John Gwynne who was a former private secretary to King Edward VII. Gwynne shot himself after a scandal broke out when he divorced his wife. The palace staff claims to have heard the sound of a gunshot coming from the office.
Of course, there is plenty of room for ghosts since the palace has 775 rooms. Many well-known people have been there through the centuries like Mozart when he was seven and author Charles Dickens. If you are tired you can choose from 52 royal and guest bedrooms. There is no problem if a ghost beats you to the bathroom because there are 78 bathrooms.
