I try to use the same cover image in all my sites.
Why make more work for yourself? Just rinse, wash, repeat…

Seeing you periodically update your cover image, I have been tempted to do so several times, but I have not done it as you see it.
I am on several different platforms, and I use the same image for all of them…
Hmm… I also use the same photo on all sites that I am a member of and have never replaced it yet.
Honestly, if you aren’t trying to attract followers there isn’t much reason to do it
