When you think of fruit and Vitamin C, what do you think of? Most people would think of citrus fruit; Oranges, Lemons, Limes, Tangerines, Kumquats, or Grapefruits. This is understandable. After all, vitamin C is also known as citric acid. Would it surprise you to learn that the fruit highest in vitamin C isn’t a citrus fruit?
People have a requirement of 92 mg of vitamin C per day. A cup of lemon wedges will certainly provide it as they contain 112 mg of vitamin C. Oranges are nearly as good, with 96 mg of vitamin C per cupful, which is over the required daily amount. Bell peppers and kiwi fruits have more vitamin C than oranges, though, 190 mg and 167 mg per cup, respectively.
None of these comes close to the fruit with the most vitamin C, however. Guavas contain a whopping 377 mg of vitamin C per cup. That is more than 400% of the daily requirement.
If you aren’t getting enough vitamin C, don’t bother with Oranges, eat a guava.

great information , thanks
My pleasure. I think this is really interesting.
Great information and thanks for sharing,
I’d not previously known that guava fruits were so high in vitamin C.
When I was growing up my dad brought home pomegranates every day he loved this fruit, I always thought it was too sour but now I have the juice now and then,
I enjoy pomegranates but we don’t have them often because they are expensive here.
That is good information to know, thanks!
When I first found this out, I was astonished.
Learn something new every day.
That is always a good thing. 😀
