The stupa is a roundish structure that is a part of the Buddhist temple. Our tour guide said that the main purpose of the stupa is to serve as a storage of ashes. It was not clear if the ashes are of the monks or of the family. But the stupa in the picture is an old one and part of the ruins in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
