A photo from my neighbor’s garden. She calls me every spring to show me new flowers she has. And so many beautiful ones in her several gardens she has. I always learn something from her as well
What a great neighbor she is. I have helped her and will continue as I can. She and her husband are in their 80s and still are as active as they can be. They both have health problems but still push forward. An inspiration.
The tall, beautiful Iris, named after the Greek goddess who rode rainbows, comes in many magical colors. Who would like to ride on a rainbow, I certainly would!
She had many colors of the Iris and I chose this burgundy, on this day, to photograph.

My friend is very fond of irises , he always sends me pictures of his Irises. We cannot grow them here because of the warm climate.
They are pretty, but the long stem is not very attractive. The beauty of the blooms make up for it though.
That is a lovely flower. In Latvia, they have candies named Irises that are very popular.
I love these Iris flowers, never saw this particular color.
