The Band Ended With a Bang

When I was still living in New York City I was part of a youth society composed of Latvians in their late teens and early twenties. When dances were given there was one band which became famous among Latvians because they were able to play all the latest hits as well as popular Latvian dance numbers.

The Latvians became friends with the boys in the band. Unfortunately, when they took breaks their drummer also enjoyed having a couple of drinks. This of course also had an effect on how the band played their numbers as the evening progressed. One such time the other band members started having problems with the drummer. It all finally ended when the drummer fell backward into his drums and the band carried him out drums and all. The evening progressed with tapped music.
