Dawn
In the spring of her life,
skin glistening with youth,
body budding with beauty,
thoughts taking flight in dreams,
Vivacity in her steps,
seeking adventure and fun,
in all that she saw,
wanting to taste newness,
experimenting everything,
now saddled with life
growing inside her!
Fear creeping into the night,
eyes flooded,
wet pillows snatching away her sleep,
Not knowing what the future held,
expect a doll with life,
her dreams of life carefree,
now dying slowly,
as life struggles,
within!!

I am not sure. I think your description is gender specific. Teenage is the life with most expectancy imho!
True this is the life of a girl from this generation. Teenage was the glorious period of my life, but I am writing about what i see all around me.
