Tech Wiz are you woke on what you can do?

There are times when reading the works of others that I am forced both to evaluate, consider and sometimes change my opinions. I am also like most people at the point in life where I don’t mislead myself anymore. I love going to museums and looking at the works of brilliant artists. I enjoy seeing pictures taken by professionals with the ability to capture the essence of an image and share it. I do, however, at this point in my life, acknowledge that seeing and doing are very different. I from time to time write poetry. That is the art of words, and that is the art that I was given early in life. I can draw a stick figure, but when it comes to visual arts mine are happenstance. Luck as It of the draw, I capture pictures that are good on occasion. I cannot, however, create art in any form other than poetry.

Paint a wall? I can do that. I am a pretty good house painter both interior and exterior of the house. Paint a picture of the wall, not going to happen. I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree to borrow from a significantly better poet than I. It is not that I am, as my twins say. Woke to my weakness, just this one weakness that I fully woke to.  I think I should probably create a speech such as the one uttered by Crash Davis in the movie “Bull Durham,” The speech he gives that starts with “I believe in the hanging curveball…” Or perhaps I should borrow from the Dan Fogelberg Song “Leader of the band.” “But his blood runs through my instrument; his song is in my soul.”

My passion, my love is experimenting, designing and deploying solutions using technology that make the world a better place. From improving the networks of my readers to finding new technologies and solutions that improve how we interact with the world is my passion. Poetry is my artistic expression, and I do know that I am not blessed with more than poetry.

I mean no disrespect to those who have that gift. I admire and enjoy that gift in others. Don’t be hurt if I say I am not talented in that way. I am able to draw pictures. I write pictures with words.

“Poets who read their poems out loud, have many other nasty habits as well.” Sandler Boggs.
