Talking to Dolphins

This article was so interesting that I just had to tell you all about it. It is amazing to learn that dolphins just like humans use grammar and vocabulary in order to speak and communicate with one another. Through various studies, scientists now believe that dolphins use words and sentences when they speak to each other. It has been known that dolphins can communicate and now it has been discovered that this communication is similar to human conversation.

Dolphins use various clicks, whistles and other kinds of sounds to relay their messages. Scientists feel that one-day humans might be able to understand the dolphin language and even talk to them. I know that with my love of animals I would really enjoy this since I cannot become a veterinarian or a Doctor Doolittle.

Researchers in Crimea Russia at the Karadag Nature Reserve made the discovery that dolphins have a language all their own. They recorded two Black Sea bottlenose dolphins that they named Yasha and Yana. What they found was that one dolphin would listen to what the other has to say and then reply. As they kept watching it appeared that it was the same as if two humans would be having a conversation. It certainly indicated that dolphins have a high level of intelligence and consciousness. Their language is a highly developed spoken language.

  1. I absolutely love them and it doesn’t surprise me that they communicate as we do. How anyone can hurt such beautiful creatures I don’t know … but they do. Some people have dark souls.

  2. “Thanks for all the fishes.”

As a Douglas Adams fan I started researching the animals around me many years ago. Dolphins have long been known to be highly intelligent.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hundreds and thousands of dolphins whales are massacred each year in the Danish Island of Faroe. Just as a ritual. Screams have no language. But humans can’t decipher the screams.
