Illinois Beach State Park
Zion, Illinois (Lake County)
Nikon Coolpix P7700
The photo was taken from our room at the Illinois Beach Resort and Conference Center, Zion, Illinois.
Editing was done with On1 RAW 2019. I just applied the ‘Landscapes – Sunset’ preset from the Starting Points collection and opened up the shadows a bit. There was a double sun in the original image resulting from shooting through a window that couldn’t open. This was removed with the Perfect Eraser tool..

Thank you for your kind words, Pamela.
Your photographic skills certainly came through in this shot Gary. Great share, thanks.
Thank you for your kind words, Andre.
Fantastic view of sunrise, thanks for sharing.
You’re very welcome. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful view , thanks for sharing
YOu’re very welcome. I’m glad you liked it.
This is a beautiful capture.
I get to see the sunrise right at my door step but not as colourful as yours.
Thanks. We were on vacation. Where I live is surrounded by other buildings so I don’t get to see many sunrises even if I was awake at the time.
That is an amazing photo, it worth getting up early to capture this.
I have to admit that I didn’t plan to be up. I just happened to wake up as it was starting.
Wow this is stunning. My problem is not necessarily getting up early, it is the view. From my house, the houses are in the way for a sunrise.
Same here but my wife and I tend to sleep late because we don’t usually get to bed until late.
That happens often here as well.
My daughter works the afternoon & night shift and doesn’t get home until about 1am. She likes to talk.
That is a great photo, The beach is within walking distance from me and I could probably catch some sunrises there but I don’t know who walks the streets at that hour.
Thank you, RasmaSandra. It’s not a great beach there. Only about 15 feet of sand, but a lot of people come here to get married.
Another great photo from you. I wish I have a good camera like yours.
It’s really not the camera. Even phones make great photos these days. If you aren’t satisfied with your photos, keep practicing. Photography is just like anything else.
You are so right about the phone cameras, they often take great photos.
