I love baking , mainly because I am usually making something for others. I love the smell of baking, both sweet and savory. I love the smell of the essences we use and the combined aroma of the baked goods that hang around the house for hours after baking.
Baking isn’t our preferred way of cooking traditionally. Usually a lot of baking is done only during holidays or celebrations. For me baking always brings on a festive atmosphere at home. My boys used get so excited when they smell something baking as they come home from school. It means there are plenty of treats to go around.
Over the years I have playing around with baking. I am one of those people who cannot follow a recipe. Exact measurements and precision isn’t my cup of tea. I just throw in stuff and cook/bake as my instinct takes me. Thankfully it always comes out fine.
However the disadvantage is I can never write a recipe or replicate the same tastes in the dishes again. But then when you are dealing with sugar and spice and all things nice you can never go wrong can you?

Last night I made some nuts bread made of flour. It became very fragrant thanks to the spices.
Spices always make bread more interesting.
I like food, but I do not like to cook

It isn’t very hard , there are some great videos on youtube which could help you if you are interested.
my mother taught me to cook. I did work as a cook in a restaurant for several years and learned to follow recipes, but if I am cooking something I know, I don’t!
So you have worked as a cook as well. I find it really hard to follow recipes even if I am cooking the dish for the first time.
i had to when I was a cook. No choice. now my preference is well flavor by taste!

I love baking, it’s my preferred way of cooking. However, I am really bad at following recipes, I just have to make it my way even if it’s wrong, haha.
Hmm I am glad to meet someone who doesn’t follow recopies. 😀
I really like to bake. Many times I do not follow the recipe.
