Gompers Park, Chicago, Illinois
Panasonic DMC-FZ50
Gompers Park is located at Foster & Pulaski in the North Mayfair neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.
Editing was done on the JPG using Luminar Flex 1.1. I used the Develop filter to adjust the color temperature to make it slightly warmer, increase the contrast and clarity and open up the shadows a bit. Next I added the Accent AI filter and used the Polarizing filter to minimize the reflection from the leaves.
When I took the photo the leaves had not started to change yet but I wanted an autumn look to the image so I added an adjustment layer and used the HSL filter and the Golden Hour filters to do this. On the HSL filter I selected the Hue tab and moved the green, red and yellow sliders all the way to the left. Then I selected the Saturation tab and moved increased the saturation of those colors.
Lastly I added the Orton filter (Type #1) about a third of the way up.

No

We have no parks in my area. But we have a lot of forests. My favorite walks are in the forest.
Parks are nice but, given the choice, I’d opt for a forest.
Beautiful park image.
Thank you, SOBAN. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah we have very good park here
That’s good. Parks are very important.
Fantastic editing prowess. This picture reminds me to go and walk our own Gatineau parkway soon enough as the leaves are starting to turn into their gorgeous fall colors….
Thank you very much, HistoryGal.
You did produce great results with your editing.
Thanks, Grace. I appreciate your comments.
It is amazing how editing can make reality look unreal!
There’s a guy named Jim Nix who makes a lot of instructional videos and posts them on YouTube. I got the idea for this from one of them.
This one is ready for framing Gary. It is the perfect fall photo, wow!!
Thanks, Carol. I’m glad you liked it.
I love the look of that park. Here where I live now there is one interesting park the Oceanside Park from which you can see the Atlantic Ocean and the beach. When I lived in Riga, Latvia I loved that there were parks most everywhere and you could roam them all day if you wished
Parks are important. Studies are showing that peoples’ mental health improves if they get around trees periodically. I know it helps me.
