When you make your kids your life and they grow up and move away in search of their own dreams you are left staring into empty space. While you rejoice in their successes and bless them with all your heart, reality is still stark.
I hate whining and complaining but the heaviness within needs a release. Its my first day of empty nest and I am left with strange emotions that won’t let me do anything. Life happens suddenly even though you have been preparing for it for months and years.
I started to get busy online just in preparation for this day and when this day came , I am unable to write or think straight. I am not being self centered or wanting to hold back, I am just dealing with my emotions, I know in a few of days I will settle into a new routine.
The picture is mine of a cactus in bloom.

I’ve experienced this too, so I understand your feelings. That’s life.
My emptiness is when I lost my only child of 16. Hold the memories close and realize you are still blessed my friend.
I am so sorry Carol, I know I am so blessed. I can’t even imagine your emptiness. (((hugs)))
