I started my technology quest many years ago in search of replacing a circular slide rule. Now, I think I spend more time considering the impact of technology on the world around me. So let’s take on three distinct problems that many people have and see what technology has delivered recently that helps solve the problems.
Thre three problems
- Capturing audio during a meeting
- During web meeting images of who is talking
- Multi-language conference calls
Capturing audio is easy. There have been voice recorders available for the past 40 plus years. You press record and the devices records to tape or a flash drive. There have been solutions in that space for a long time. Now the Senstone product has been released. What is Sunstone? It is a voice recorder that also supports automated conversion to digital documents. You can do this with a standard voice recording and Dragon Naturally speaking. But Senstone is an all in one system that literally can be worn by a user. It is small and works well. Dragon is better at overall voice conversion to digital text, but Dragon operates son your pc it has more power!
Capturing whiteboards just got a lot easier. Now there are two ways this can happen. One is the use of an interactive digital wall (Microsoft and many other companies sell one.) these interactive digital walls run between 6000 and 10000 dollars, so they are not a choice for most of us. Rocketbook has created a product called Beacon. It lets you put the Beacons on the four corners of the whiteboard using your cell phone converting that into a digital (editable) image!
The last tech improvement is the online- transition meeting room or web meeting. There are some products coming, so I won’t mention them, but now you can quickly use your translation device to capture live audio and translate it.
All three of these items do have a cost, but they are significantly less than the more traditional “business” systems.
I hope this helps!

Well, technology does a lot of good things and it is changing at an accelerating rate
what lies ahead is amazing. As long as we don’t lose too many along the way! I would love to know we can fix climate change, but also fix the Digital Divide!
Technology has solved a lot of problems as well as created lots of problems. But it’s not the technology. It’s the people using it. Thank goodness there are people who use technology for the greater good.
that is the critical thing right, do the right thing!
Rarely take part in web meetings & online conferences, but can imagine what benefits arise from the use of of an interactive digital wall & similar technologies. Adore your set of technological articles = step by step to our nearest future!!!
i use them almost every day – saves me tons of time!
I read every word, I swear, and did not understand the head or tail of it ??. But I do know that life is easier now than before and that is because of technology.
🙂 just talking about some of the ways short term technology is solving short term problems.

and then hologram conferencing technology…
i didn’t even think about going to things like that. Your avatar of the week would suddenly be the largest subscription service on the internet!
that’s a good business model…
it would be an amazing business model!
still waiting for a nice AR/VR OS, hopefully without a rig
No meetings here, except with the Dude and Brendel reminding them to play nice. And to be quiet when I am photographing the birds. They like talking too much. Seriously!
🙂 I figured I was on the outside looking in with this post. It is something I spend a lot of time worrying about!
I do not use these additional devices. But it would be interesting to know how much they cost in our country
i suspect most of them would be around 90 euros today. The costs are dropping though!
Well, I wish everything was very affordable and I also wish that I had a money tree that grew $100.00 in a planter in my house. Until that happens I would guess they are giving a fair price. I have come to love my rocketbook.
I use Rocketbooks whiteboards and notebooks every day. I have been playing with their new beacon product (for existing whiteboards) as well.
The money tree idea is one I have thought about as well. I as well wish I had a 100 dollar money tree in the house!
Interesting to know about this technology. Right now I wish I had technology of some kind to help me with my online writing otherwise I won’t make a cent. I have been accepted by two teams of writers. The problem? One gives assignments like having to write in Aussie English which I know nothing about and I have to get an article written by some time tomorrow about being a good DJ, in other words, I am writing purely for getting much-needed income but with no a clue what I am really writing about. SIGH
That is frustrating – i don’t write for many sites anymore, I just don’t have time.
Now I rarely hold meetings, if I come to meetings usually because are invited, and this is a good reference to suggest.
I know that a number of people struggle with the meeting concept who owns the notes. i know in my current company, who owns note taking is often argued.
I also still make notes about important points in the meetings that I attended. Fortunately, no one has ridiculed me.
Senstone is nice, just turn it on, and it captures the audio. The application on your pheon turns it into editable notes you can share.
no fuss, no muss!
That must be very useful!
it cut my post meeting work in 1/2 so far that is good!
This technology is completely unfamiliar to me and I will never need it … but I am happy to read the post, dear friend
these are smaller things that help people complete their jobs. I know that notes for meetings is often frustrating!
For many of whom this is very welcome information, dear friend
thank you my friend. Your kindness made my day today!
It makes me very happy if I can make your day better, dear friend
you make my day better with every comment my friend!
