Solar energy is neither free nor clean. The materials which go into making them are extremely dangerous to the environment.
Ah the solar panel question. Yes, it is renewable energy, not free by any means. You can go with do it yourself install, which I have done, you don’t need a company to come out and install when it is plug and play. You don’t even need them on a roof, but in a clearing by the house. The batteries are expensive, you have to keep replacing them, even if you go for the expensive marine batteries. The solar panels are cheaper in other countries from the one we live in. Now if you want to run a house, say a two bedroom, one bath small house, you will need a big inverter at least a 8000 watt sinewave, or you cannot run air conditioning. You can opt out of the big inverter by buying smaller ones and hooking separate breakers to it. Powering only parts of the house. If you decide to go for the whole company install and hook up to your power grid, itll cost ya. And in California, they keep all the extra power you generate, but wont give you a discount if you say use more than the amount you generate. So I answered No it is not free. whew, long winded sorry.
Solar panels are good for satelite, not for home.
It’s expensive to buy the solar panels and have the whole system installed which is very unfortunate.
