    • Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear Albert…you have to really take the time to travel by train … if I would take the train by sea I would drive more than 2 hours …. if I go by car I’m at sea in 1 hour

      • If I travel by train, for example from Jakarta (north of West Java) to Surabaya (the capital of East Java) then I will enjoy the trip for about 10 hours, but if I want to go to the end of East Java, to the city of Banyuwangi which has a port to go to Bali, with one transit, the total journey will take 16-17 hours by express train.
Maybe later, after the latest Hyperloop transportation mode has been built, with a speed of 1300 km per hour, the Jakarta-Surabaya travel time can be reached in just 56 minutes.

Of the five major islands of the 17,504 islands in Indonesia, to date, we only have railroad transportation lines only on Java and Sumatra.

  1. I think when it comes to railways there is progress all over.

I have travelled a lot by train and the most memorable one was when I took the Amtrak train to travel from San Jose to Oxnard in the US. It traversed along the coast running into miles of sea.

    • Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear Grace…the train ride is always interesting, you just have to have a lot of time … it’s much slower than other means of transportation
