Sleeping On a Dead Body

As much as this sounds like a horror story or something that comes from a Hollywood movie, unfortunately, people have found themselves sleeping on dead bodies. So when you are traveling and you arrive at your destination check your room carefully and note any unusual smells unless of course, you are staying in a luxury resort or hotel in which hopefully such things are not ordinary. Reports of the discovery of dead bodies stashed in mattresses have proved to be a reality in places like Atlantic City, New Jersey and in other states like Colorado, Virginia, and Florida.

You can imagine what it must have been like for the couple who checked into the Budget Lodge in Memphis, Tennessee in 2010. The ceiling tiles had been stuffed with fabric softener so that the stench in the room would not be so great. Nothing in the room appeared to be out of the ordinary but then this couple did not know that the room had been rented three times already during the period when a person had gone missing before they came along.

You can imagine what condition that body was in with three previous occupants sleeping on top of it. Finally, this couple just had to complain. It was then that the body of Sony Millbrook was discovered under the mattress. As in all of these kinds of cases, Millbrook did not die of natural causes and with time her boyfriend LaKeith Moody was convicted of the crime.
