This picture is what I saw this morning, you may see the reddish glow in the morning sky which contains the smoke from Australia.
This was blown over by the winds that blow West from Australia and New South Wales.
It takes 2 hours from Auckland to fly to Sydney but equivalent of 4 days by boat, and never have Australia had fires so bad. It will take days to put out the fire or a very long time.
I have not experienced a major fire neither do I want to , so my sympathy for those affected in Australia and hope our firemen can help.
