Meditation is hard for me. I tend to fill up the silence with cluttered thoughts. I have been working on it for months and the progress has been minimal at best. The most recent advice I was given was to feel the silence. I was also sent to a site to tell me how to sit properly.
It took me about twenty minutes to try to sit properly and it was very uncomfortable. I wanted to run away. So the search is now on to see if there is something that I can do that will feel comfortable while I am meditating or if feeling very uncomfortable (physically) is part of the process.
I even tried a class. It didn’t look like meditation to me. It looked like yoga. Vertigo and yoga don’t make a great combination. You just get so nauseous you have to leave. I am hoping that I can find something that is more about the mind than about an odd and uncomfortable pose.

It takes time and we are all different. You have to find the right spot, chair and time of day or night to feel the silence. But keep trying, you will find it.
I have a busy mind, so I asking me to sit tight and do nothing will make me crazy instead of relaxing.
Instead, focusing and working on something that required me to thinking and solving something will help me to relax and calm.
the silence comes when we are able to turn off the monkey brain.
I have used calm in the past. It is an application that helps you focus. But, they recently started charging so I dropped the app!!
For me the easiest way to calm the monkey brain it to focus on something. I put on noise-canceling earpieces to remove the outside world. Then I take an image or picture and watch it. In my mind tracing the edge of the image. that normally gets me balanced.
It is about balance!
My monkey is very very very loud. lol – I can do this. Somehow I will make it happen.
sometimes we have to acknowledge our monkey brain. Sometimes it has a message we have missed!
