In a previous post I presented the larva of this bug.As I said there, this beetle was a nightmare of my childhood, because my mother asked me to get it whenever I found in the garden. This bug is about 10 mm in length. As you can see it is yellow-orange with many black stripes on the elytra. The head has a triangular black patch and the chest has irregular black markings. This bug is a pest that produces numerous damage both in potato crops and in eggplant or tomato crops.
I have to admit that I do not like this bug at all but I found this beetle in the park on a solanum dulcamara plant and decided to take a picture for Saturday’s Critters Challenge
… in the picture it looks good.

??Good observation! It is indeed a beetle! Thank you for the comment!
the prothorax is a dead giveaway…
No I can enjoy it, but I can never identify it.
I have played a lot with this in childhood for prediction either pass either fail in examination
OMG! How to play with such creatures??
In childhood, I feared those Colorado beetles very much.
I have gathered many in childhood. I was not afraid of them, but they provoked a very uncomfortable feeling.
It looks nice actually …
but I’ll be afraid of it too …
I’m not afraid of them, but it’s very unpleasant to see many in the same place. Their larvae are horrible!
I know what you mean … just like ants … they get rather disgusting when they group up!!
Know, I’m curious about the larvae … :p
We used to have to go get bags of potato bugs in the summer when dad had the farm. we would put them in cloth bags and then release them in the pond. the fish enjoyed the feast!
I did not know that the fish were eating such beetles.
Bass, turtles and snakes all love to consume potato bugs!
Very interesting thanks for sharing
With pleasure! Whenever I find a bug I will share it with my friends!?
Thankfully, we don’t have many Colorado beetles around here.
The Colorado beetle gives big headaches to gardeners.
It is very good that it is not around.
A Colorado bug I believe.
For me, this insect is a nightmare. this is a Colorado bug
That was the same for me in my childhood.
This is the Colorado bug that works most potentially on potatoes
The Colorado beetle is the source of true calamities in potato crops.
