I found this probably old and battered butterfly on my allspice plant. He was sunny himself away. But each time I moved in to take a closer picture he would fly away. Finally I was able to get some decent shots of him.
His wings were battered and torn. The red color in his wings were kind of faded, which is why I think he was old. However, it was a joy to see him flitting about my garden. There was a little spider too at the top left. I am not so sure you can see him. I noticed that only while I uploaded the picture.
All things bright and beautiful make life so full of surprises.

Wonderful butterfly even though it is older. I also noticed a spider.
I love butterflies and its always joy to see them in the garden.
You are a keen observer to notice his battered wings (lol) I have a few of them and have clicked a few photos too.
Butterflies are a huge attraction so I am sure most of us here have taken pictures of them. .
