Love ItLove It

Rough seas around us

the only light in the distance

the flame of a lighter

a bic light in the distance

we see no further than that

as we draw

nearer to the rocks

each rock, named and hallowed

Sam lies in front of us and Alice to the side

our ors broke and no longer oars. we

are bound to specific no longer

joined by Or.

in the rain

in the wind

water lashing against

Sam

or Alice our Oars

not with us

now splintering against the rocks

not named Alice or Sam.

as the wind

blows out the bic

leaving us with no light

no way

no path to home.

  1. A wonderful poem, Doc. I love lighthouses. I have had several houses I have seen in my life that for some reason I have been drawn to. All of the apartments I have lived while in NYC for some reason also have special meaning to me and I have fond memories of them when I look at different photos.

  2. My Grandmother’s house holds a very special connection and bond. She no longer lives but it will always be her home. So many good memories of my entire family there.
