In this dark era of the corona virus, public places are in a metamorphosis of sorts. Crowds are not allowed anymore because of the social distancing required by law. Malls and other public places are aware of the protocols so they try to observe what is needed like the markings to guide people.
Riding an escalator with proper distancing is good. But they forgot to put a marking on the railing. Holding the railing is one easy way of spreading the virus which is an easy way of catching by the other person.
