Red Ixora

Ixora comes in many colours.  Orange is common but red is rare. I have all the colours but  just one plant with red ixora.  I am trying to multiply it but so far I have not succeeded.

Ixora is easy to maintain as all it requires is a bit of water.  It is perenial.  It has two sizes.  I have both The yellow has medicinal properties.  My mother’s garden had yellow Ixora and I remembere many neighbours would come for flowers that they said had some health benenfit.

  1. Beautiful flower and such gorgeous vibrant color. Do you know if it can be an indoor plant by any chance? This is because here in Canada this plant would certainly not withstand the cold and snow or rain or sleet…

    • Yes they are very different because of our winters along with it’s snow etc. We do have gorgeous trees like the maple trees that changes color in the fall to bright yellow, orange and red until all the leaves fall and form a blanket on the ground. It is a spectacular show…
