Preiti was a stray who came in uninvited but gave us 12 years of joy.
I did not much train her but she was a disciplined dog. Well behaved and lived with dignity.
She was a great source of joy and with her around we felt safe. I was amazed how she knew when the courier guy arrived. He normally came around 2 in the afternoon. My mobile would ring and she would instantly recognise it from the answer I gave and that was to tell him I will be there at the gate. She would stand near the main door for me to open and rush to the gate and wait for the guy to deliver the parcel. She would wag her tail the moment she spotted him.
I miss Preiti every single day.

My canary is only and now he thinks his socket is in the food container.
I have a cat. He sits at the door every day waiting for his nephew to come out of work … this is happening at 3 p.m.
Cats are wise too. We have two cats. They stay outside for the night but at the dot when I am supposed to wake up they meow near our window.
I used to walk some body else’s dog, his name was Luther and he was 10 years old. He did everything I told him to, and he did not need a lead. He left with his owners..I miss him.
Some dogs learn on their own like our beloved Preiti.
My dog passed last year, now I feed a street cat.
Sad to hear that. Preiti lived for 12 years and now we have a cat family
I have two rescued cats but have had dogs in the past. My cats keep me entertained every day.
Cats can be truly entertaining. We have a cat family now after we lost our beloved Preiti
I had a pet dog twenty yeas ago but not interested now
No more dogs for me either. I have cats now
We’ve always had dogs. They are so special. Now that we are older, we don’t have any pets; and we miss them.
Even I have decided not to keep any more dogs. Cats do provide some happiness
The state I am living in doesn’t allow me to own a pet.
Growing up we had a funny dog. We would put food in a plastic container. She/he (can’t remember the gender) would eat food and turn to the container when she had completed eating. We would would be met the next morning with the container full of bites and disfigured.
May be it was hungry. Sadly they cannot express themselves.
Yes, it might be the case. It’s true it’s sad they can’t express themselves well.
If Preiti wanted more food she would bang her bowl and make a noise.
That’s interesting. It was her way of saying she is hungry, she needs food.
Where do you live that pet is not allowed?
I don’t have pets because I like to travel and then there is a problem with pets
With pets are life is restricted. You did a good thing not to keep a pet since you do not have anyone to care for it while you are gone.
I totally agree with you … if you have a pet you also have to take good care of him … but I’m not ready for that …. maybe sometime later
I have two old rescue dogs that I love. One is blind and 13 years old, the other is 12 and very healthy for her age. They go everywhere with me, even on holiday and although I have decided not to have any more when they are gone, mainly because I am older now, I will always be grateful they were part of my life.
You did a good thing about deciding not to have any more because of age, just like me.
Dog is a good friends for human, but not the wild dogs outside, I feel scary about those.
Dogs are like humans who learn a habit.
