Sharing a photo for today’s Saturday Critters challenge. I enjoy all types of nature. This includes grasshoppers. They are friendly and the one in this photo is really big. He sat still on the fence while I snapped a few photos. Then he hopped away.
Many are afraid of insects, like the grasshopper. They will not hurt you. If you move slowly you can see things you have probably missed your entire life. Allow nature into your life. You might be surprised at what you will see and learn.
Did you know that grasshoppers make their sound by rubbing their wings or legs together. Kind of cool to learn these facts about nature.

we used to chase them when we were little. I doubt we caught many.
Yes I have seen many leaves eaten before but usually I see them in the yard by the fence. We chased them as well. Fun times.

grasshoppers can also attack and later eyes become severely allergic
I am sure that does happen. I keep my distance, and give them respect of their space and have never been bothered. And there are many varieties as well.
If some how it happen , Immediately use larotadine.

grasshoppers can strike eyes suddenly in a nasty manner.There are incidents that they damaged eyes.
