Poll: Cell Phone Usage

Telephones have come a long way since they were first invented. Like most things in society today, they’ve been shaped and changed by computer technology and the advent of satellite communications. For one thing, people are no longer tied to a specific location to send and receive phone calls. For another, many people can now do a lot of different things with their phones, from talking to someone to sending or receiving texts to surfing the web and checking their email.

They can even order products and make payments from their phones. For that matter, a number of people write and post using cell phones.

Cell phones have been made possible by the computer technology and satellite communications we have today.

This poll today has to do with how you use your cell phone.

  • How do you use your cell phone?

    • Almost exclusively to make and receive phone calls.
    • To call people and to send text messages
    • To text and check email or to surf the web.
    • To write and post on websites
    • Other
    • I don’t use a cell phone

  1. Mobile phones have certainly come a long way over the years. I tend not to use mine too much, but I use it mostly to make phone calls and send/receive texts. I also sometimes check my emails on it.

    • They can be expensive, but they don’t have to be. Mine is an LG and it has been reliable for three years now. It didn’t cost me anything for the phone. For the first month, I just had to pay $45 for an unlimited card. I’ve paid $31 a month ever since.
