I know that I have told people I have a black thumb and I can grow nothing. It’s true. I cannot grow anything. I can plant it and it will come up and then I am forbidden from going near it. (It’s all good with me.)
There are two great reasons for having lemon thyme this summer. It helps to keep msoquitoes away and it is great for making lemon thyme cookies and lemon thyme chicken. These are two of our favorite summer foods.

Oh my goodness, you should try them. They are a real treat.
I was given some lemon thyme in the middle of summer last year. I planted it in a pot, which remained outside all winter. It came up quite healthy this year. My regular thyme also came up great. Thyme is tremendously hardy.
Another great use for it is to plant it between the stones of a stone walkway. It tends to overgrow the stones, which means that it gets stepped on. Every time it does, it releases a wonderful aroma.
It does help keep bugs at bay as well.
I have never grown it, but my mom has it in her garden.
