When someone looks at you what do they see? How are you presenting yourself to the world? What do you see in the eyes of strangers when you look at them?
Before I begin I have to say that I have not really cared what others think of me because as long as I please God, that is what really matters to me. Now I will add God gave us good sense and he wants the best for us. With that being said I will continue.
Depending on your job or the place you are going to be is how you should dress. The people you are with is how you should dress for the most part. Your profession.
Have you ever been to business and seen people over dressed? Or go to work in the fields digging and someone with a clean, nice white shirt is there?
Dress appropriate.
I am a landlady, this my main job. Most of the time my clothes have paint and holes in them because I don`t want to ruin good clothes so I dress sloppy while I paint walls and rip up carpet. I also have to factor is the way a tenant sees me, I won`t go ask for rent in my best clothes because for some reason I wont get the rent, but if I dress like my tenants I get paid. Maybe dressing casual doesn`t make me look like I am better.
When I am due in court I dress better. I put on dressy but casual clothes. But never dressed better than the judge. NEVER!
When I go to church or to a funeral I dress conservative and nice, not to impress people but to honor God, because of his love for me I was able to dress nice.
When I go dancing, to a club, I dress a little more sexy, with high heels and a shorter skirt. No, I do not drink, I just like music and dancing.
Now …… when I am at home I just lounge as long as possible in my night clothes, comfort right?
So how does the world see you?

I feel very much as you do in regard to what I wear. I dress nicely at church, for God’s sake, but otherwise, I tend to wear my work clothes. I’ve known a great number of people, though, who are all wrapped up in fashion, as if what they wear defines who they are. Clothing doesn’t define a person. Thus, I don’t dress according to style and never to impress people.
Yes, who wants to wear a dress to go paint the side of a house? LOL.
I suspect that you know the only person who has to like you, is you. Once you like yourself, others will as well!
LOL, this is not a self esteem article. I am saying to dress for whatever you are doing. If you showed up in a suit and tie to apply for a job with me as a handyman that will mow grass and go under the houses, that is just over dressed and I think WTH? but show up in jeans and a t-shirt? more about what I am looking for, someone to go to work NOW.
i got that, just that you have to be happy with what you wear! Who cares what other people think.
I dress up when I need. Most of the time my clothes match my personality. Or, at least that is what I have been told.
I have never thought of it like that.
Thais are critical to what we wear, so we have no choice but to wear to impress so that there will be no problem with them especially the old ones.
Right! its the same here. People judge by how you dress.
I do not try to impress but I do like to look my best when I go out.
Maybe I should have worded that different. But we are judged by what e wear, whether by the poor or the rich.
