Peacocks in our bird bath

When this bird bath was designed we never had peacocks in mind.  Peacocks are huge birds and I never expected that they would climb up and quench their thirst.  This bird bath is meant for tiny birds and birds of the size of may be crows but nothing beyond.  It is tapered so that birds of different sizes can frolic in there.

But we had a surprise this year when two to three peacocks daintlly climbed up and quenched their thrist in the bird bath. It made my day watching them so relaxed and happy.

I grabbed my camera and clicked them. They posed for me.

  1. OH my gosh, how cool is this??!! I wouldn’t of thought they would try that. They must of been thirsty. Love the blue necks. They remind me of turkeys, but maybe that’s just the time of year it is. lol

  2. Hmm .. sad that they can’t get in and enjoy the privileges like the other birds. However, they need a drink more importantly when the weather is very hot. I just place bowls of water for them in the garden, but the birds like my waterlily tubs more and muck it up.

    • Even these guys can drink from huge bowls kept here and there and so I was amazed to see them climb up there. (lol)

Your water lily tub I understand is on the terrace. Right?!!
