Overcoming stage fright

There are people who were born for the stage, so to speak, that they can talk freely and naturally in front of the public. No sweat, so to speak. But for ordinary mortals like me, the stage is scary and it greatly affects my disposition. For public speaking, it is not easy to stand in front of the people and talk. But they say that there is a way.

First step is to master your talk or speech that would include the ad libs probably. When you are comfortable with your speech then practice is in front of some people. Up the stage, avoid eye contact at the start and train your eyes above the heads. After a few seconds of talking that you feel a bit comfortable, gaze around to get more confidence. What’s most important is their interest in what you are going to say.
