Our prolific banana plants

We have 2 fruiting banana plants in the backyard and in the picture is the banana plant in the front yard with a blossom,. That blossom will be a bunch of bananas that would be ready for harvest in 4 months. This variety of banana is prolific with fruits that it starts fruiting within 8 months from the sapling unlike the other varieties that takes a year or more.

When the banana is harvested, there would be 8 to 10 clusters on the average. What can we do with that many clusters of banana? We cannot finish all of them so we give away the clusters to the neighbors and leave just 1 or 2 for us.

  • Do you harvest your banana?

    • Yes
    • No
    • we have no garden
