Our Own Runs Machine

The cricket pundits started to call him second Virat Kohli when Babar scored back to back three centuries in the start of his career against West Indies back in 2016, but he proved that he is not second Virat Kohli, infact he is the first Babar Azam.

Karachi was hosting an ODI after a long period of 10 years and Babar made this occasion memorable with another century. It was his 11th ODI century in just 71 innings (only Hashim Amla 64 and Quinton Decock 65 took lesser inning to comlete 11 ODI centuries.) During his 115 runs inning, Babar completed 1000 ODI runs in 2019. He is the third Pakistani in last six years who completed 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year. He is quickest Pakistani batsman in term of innings to achieve this milestone.

Now Babar has second best ODI average after Virat Kohli. His strike rate in 2019 is better then Rohit Sharma and he smashed more sixes then Virat Kohli in this year.

  1. Plus, he is named after Babar the Elephant. That’s cool. Getting 100 runs in one inning of cricket is really good. Where was he for the Cricket World Cup?
